The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has started checking social grant recipients across the country this week. All beneficiaries must follow strict life certification rules to stop fraud & keep the national social assistance system working properly. The agency said that anyone who does not complete these new verification steps will have their grant payments stopped right away. SASSA announced that this review affects everyone receiving social grants. The process requires beneficiaries to prove they are still alive and eligible for their payments. This step helps the agency make sure that money goes only to people who truly qualify for assistance. The verification process involves visiting designated offices or using approved digital platforms. Beneficiaries need to bring their identification documents and any other papers that SASSA requests.
